TRAIL PASS INSURANCE
Quad enthusiasts can take advantage of liability insurance with Intact Insurance, the official insurer of the FQCQ, when purchasing their trail pass.
To legally circulate on the trails, quad enthusiasts must not only obtain a trail pass but must also have a liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 such as the Act Respecting Off-Highway Vehicles requires it.
Members of FQCQ clubs can purchase their trail pass with or without the liability insurance option of Intact Insurance. Trail passes are automatically accompanied by this insurance. Quad riders who prefer to obtain their own liability cover from the insurer of their choice can purchase their trail pass with the FQCQ without insurance.
Intact Insurance’s ATV liability insurance offers those who benefit from it protection in the event of property damage and bodily injury caused to others by their quad when traveling on or off marked trails, everywhere in Canada and the United States.
Quad riders who are members of FQCQ clubs have every interest in taking advantage of the “with insurance” option, given advantageous offer from Intact Insurance. By opting for trail passe with insurance, you benefit from a good liability insurance protection at an advantageous rate, while supporting the Federation and your local club in the pursuit of their objectives of security and development of the leisure.
PURCHASE OF A TRAIL PASS WITHOUT INSURANCE
You want to obtain a trail pass without insurance?
Don’t forget that liability insurance is mandatory for all quad owners and that the FQCQ has negotiated a preferential rate for you with Intact Insurance at only $43.64 taxes included.
Compare with what your insurer can offer you before making a choice and be careful not to find yourself driving your quad without this mandatory protection!
WARNING: The trail pass without insurance sells for the regular cost of $348.72 for the year ($318.72 during the discount sale) and $233.22 for the summer ($213.22 during the discount sale).
To help you make the right choice between purchasing a trail pass without insurance and a regular trail pass (with insurance), here is some additional information to consider:
Intact Insurance’s insurance coverage includes: ATV Rider Liability Insurance in the amount of $44.95 and Club Liability Insurance in the amount of $8.35, for a total cost of $53.30 annually.
On the other hand, when you buy a trail pass without insurance, you pay the following costs: the civil insurance of the club in the amount of $8.35 as well as FQCQ administration fees in the amount of 12.37 $ (taxes included), for a total of $20.72.
Thus, the price difference between the two types of trail passes is $32.58 per year. We invite you to compare this amount to the premium you pay your current insurer so that you can decide for the next season which type of trail pass is best for you: regular or without insurance.
If you choose to purchase a trail pass without insurance, note that a minimum period of ten working days will be necessary for your insurance to be valid and protect you. You will then receive an email that will include your temporary trail pass. You can print it to ride the trails while waiting to receive the official document and the sticker to affix to your vehicle.
We remind you that you are prohibited by law from riding on a trail of FQCQ member clubs if you do not have all the required documents with you (trail pass, driver’s license, proof of insurance) .
